Learning Disability Coalition

We really want to hear what you think.

Whether you are a person with a learning disability, a family carer or an organisation that works with people with a learning disability, we want to hear from you.

Are you affected by cuts to your local services? Would you like to receive a service, but have been told you are not eligible? Perhaps you don't know how to go about asking for support from your local council?

Please let us know. We will only be able to make our case if you give us the ammunition.

Please email us at info@learningdisabilitycoalition.org.uk.

Josie Scantlebury, Office Assistant, Mencap

Josie, who has a learning disability, helps the Coalition with administrative support. She says:

"I work at Mencap in the Campaigns and Policy Department, also working alongside The Learning Disability Coalition.

Working with the Learning Disability Coalition makes you realise that there are lots of cuts in place and that the individuals with a learning disability who are affected need a whole heap of support.

It is extremely important for people with learning disabilities to get the right services they need in their local area, and for the Government to get their act together.

My main job is typing up on the spreadsheet the people with learning disabilities who have signed our petition. I give postcards about the petition to everyone that I meet because I think it is really important that we get a lot of signatures."
