The LDC welcomes a report by the CSCI that questions local council provision of services for people with a learning disability.

Heather Honour, campaign manager of the LDC, said:
"This report reveals we have an archaic social care system that is all too often delivering variable levels of care to the most vulnerable. It is simply unacceptable that councils are rationing care services only to those with the most serious needs. The Learning Disability Coalition revealed for the first time, in December, how serious the withdrawal of social care services had become.
"The Government must offer real reform and significantly increased funding for the failing social care system. For too long, vulnerable people - especially those with a learning disability - have been sidelined. This is a serious, long-term crisis that needs a serious, long-term solution."
